The workplace is a marathon, not a sprint
Studies show that practices developed for winning athletes can also be applied in the business environment. We can apply the wisdom of sport to help us succeed in the workplace. Like an athlete, it involves regular training and practice; setting and meeting goals; having good systems in place and a strong and healthy mindset.
We’ve been working with NZ CA for two years already, running this programme with their member organisations.
We’ve had consistent feedback from our participants that they’ve found the programme really valuable to accelerate their careers and improve the effectiveness and wellbeing of themselves and their teams. Plus, we do our best to make our in-person and online learning both engaging and practical.
The programme takes five months and covers the building blocks of workplace success which help professionals learn to lead themselves and others. It uses a mix of online learning, workshops with experts and peer coaching as part of a select cohort.
What does the 2023 NZ CA Work Savvy programme cover?
Over five months of fortnightly workshops and peer coaching sessions, alongside online learning on your mobile phone, we cover key emotional skills, attitudes and success behaviours such as effective time management, improving work-life balance and communicating well across generations.
This longer time period gives enough time to practice and embed habits and behaviours within a supportive environment of your peers alongside expert advice. As one of our recent cohorts said, "I could've used a whole year of this programme!"
Who should take part?
Work Savvy is for professionals and emerging leaders who want professional development to step up to the next level. As past participants have noted, those who are ready to make positive changes in their professional and personal lives will reap the most benefit from this programme.
What are the benefits for organisations?
Organisations that support the development of their high-potential employees and emerging leaders will get back in return:
Greater productivity from existing teams and better utilisation of talent
Increased employee engagement and retention
Reduction in team conflict and less wasted time dealing with interpersonal issues
Increased creativity, teamwork and commitment
Improved personal wellbeing for team members.
